Wendy Kress
has been dancing since age 4 and has studied Highland Dance,
Ballet, Modern, Jazz, Tap and Ballroom. She studied Jazz with Jerry
Flint at Flint’s Dance Studio in Mishawaka. Wendy attended
Indiana University as a Modern Dance Major and performed with the
Modern Dance Troupe while in Bloomington.
She began teaching at Weston Conservatory in Elkhart Indiana at age
14 and has taught Ballet, Modern, Yoga, Aerobics, and Disco in several
studios and educational institutions in northern Indiana.
Wendy began Ballroom dancing in Elkhart, Indiana. Her teacher, Peter Komlosy, was chosen in 1984, to represent his country, Hungary at the
Olympics. Ballroom Dance is an exhibition sport in the Olympic
Games.
Her
studies continued with Brian O’Day where she had the opportunity to take
class from Tony Dovolani and Elena Grinenko, who both appeared on “Dancing
with the Stars”.
She also experienced Master Classes with Ray Rivers, former dance
champion, now residing in San Diego, CA.
While studying with Brian O’Day, she had the opportunity to compete in
dance competitions in South Bend, Fort Wayne, and Chicago and earned “Top
Female of the Day” out of 50 females in Fort Wayne. She also won the
Scholarship in American Rhythm in Chicago as well as first place in
individual dances of that style.
Wendy also earned a
Bachelor of Science in Business from Indiana University and has
spent seventeen years in Sales and Marketing in the Computer, Payroll and
Tax Services, and Benefits Administration fields.
